How to configure your Polestar 3: A guide to building the perfect SUV

Polestar’s online configurator gives you the freedom to create a vehicle that reflects your style, needs, and priorities, whether you value efficiency, performance, luxury, or all of the above. This guide will walk you through every option, pack, and upgrade so you can build the perfect Polestar 3 to match your lifestyle. So let’s walk through the process, step by step, and explore what makes each choice unique.

Choosing the right variant

The first decision when configuring your Polestar 3 is selecting a variant, which defines the car’s power, range, and personality.

If efficiency is your priority, the Long range Single motor variant is the perfect choice. This model features a single motor at the rear, offering smooth and effortless driving with maximum range. It’s a great option for city driving, long commutes, or anyone looking for simplicity with no compromise on style or comfort.

For drivers who crave more power, the Long range Dual motor adds an extra motor for dynamic all-wheel drive. This setup gives you better traction and control in all conditions, from slippery roads to high-speed corners. It strikes a balance between performance and practicality, making it ideal for those who want confidence on every journey.

If your heart is set on exhilarating performance, the Performance Pack takes the Long Range Dual Motor to the next level. With 517 horsepower and 671 lb-ft of torque, this variant offers breathtaking acceleration and sharper handling, thanks to sport-tuned software and Polestar Engineered chassis tuning. Plus, it includes Swedish gold details like seat belts and valve caps, ensuring the exterior matches the thrilling drive experience.

Colours that speak

Next, you’ll decide how your Polestar 3 will look on the outside. Polestar’s colour palette is carefully curated, with a focus on sophistication and timeless appeal.

If you prefer a clean and minimalist appearance, the standard options – Snow, a crisp white, and Space, a rich black – are classics that pair beautifully with the car’s design.

For those who want a more distinctive look, Polestar offers premium metallic shades. Thunder, a smoky grey, exudes subtle elegance, while Jupiter, a golden beige, adds a unique warmth to the car’s exterior. Midnight, a deep, dramatic blue, is perfect if you’re looking for a colour that turns heads without being flashy.

Upgrading your experience

Polestar 3 comes well-equipped out of the box, but the optional packs allow you to enhance specific aspects of the car, from technology to comfort and design.

The Pilot Pack offers a suite of advanced driver assistance features. Pilot Assist is one of its standout features, providing semi-autonomous driving for highways, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping aid. A 360º camera with a 3D view offers an unparalleled perspective around the car, enhancing visibility and confidence when manoeuvring in tight spaces.

The Plus Pack turns the Polestar 3 into a haven of comfort and sophistication. It features a graphical head-up display, keeping key driving information directly in your line of sight. The bespoke Bowers & Wilkins audio system transforms the cabin into a concert hall, while the power-operated steering column adds effortless adjustability. Air Quality technology with a PM 2.5 sensor ensures a clean and healthy cabin environment, and soft-close doors provide an elegant finishing touch.

Add a touch of performance design to the Polestar 3 with the Pro Pack, which combines Swedish gold accents on the interior and exterior with 21-inch Pro wheels. This pack also includes practical features like four-zone climate control and adaptive headlights, ensuring comfort and safety with a distinctly sporty edge.

Inside Polestar 3

Once you’ve chosen your performance and features, it’s time to design your Polestar 3’s interior. Polestar offers six distinct interior themes, blending innovative, responsibly sourced materials with a carefully matched colour palette to create a cabin that’s both luxurious and sustainable.

The standard interior features bio-attributed WeaveTech in Charcoal, paired with Tectonic deco. This vegan, PVC-based material is dirt- and moisture-resistant, sustainably produced with just 1% chemical plasticisers, and paired with deco molded from 75% recycled plastic for a modern, textured finish.

Upgraded options include wool or bio-attributed MicroTech, both paired with repurposed aluminium deco made from 80% recycled materials. Wool offers breathability and seasonal comfort, while MicroTech is a vegan leather alternative combining renewable vinyl with recycled textiles.

For those seeking traditional luxury, Nappa leather, available with the Pilot and Plus Packs, delivers ventilated front seats with massage and comes in Zinc, Charcoal, or Jupiter. Paired with Black Ash wood deco, it combines premium aesthetics with sustainable craftsmanship, completing the cabin’s refined design.

Finishing touches

The wheels you choose can drastically change the car’s personality. Polestar offers several designs, each with its own character and purpose.

The standard 20-inch Aero wheels, crafted from cast alloy with a diamond-cut and gloss black finish, provide a sleek, versatile look. Upgrading to the 21-inch Plus wheels adds a refined touch, while the 21-inch Pro wheels, exclusive to the Pro Pack, bring a sportier edge. For a bolder statement, the Pro Pack also offers 22-inch Sport wheels, made from forged alloy with a laser-etched finish, enhancing stance and performance.

Drivers opting for the Performance Pack will receive the exclusive 22-inch wheels with an aggressive design that matches the high-performance nature of this variant. They’re bold, striking, and a clear indicator of the power under the hood.

Customising with add-ons

Finally, Polestar offers a range of optional accessories to fine-tune your Polestar 3 to your lifestyle. These small additions can make a big difference in everyday practicality.

For instance, if you’re planning weekend getaways, consider adding a load carrier to ensure secure transportation of both roof-mounted extras and other items. A retractable tow bar makes towing effortless, while mud flaps protect the car’s bodywork from dirt and debris.

Inside, you can opt for a luggage compartment mat to keep the cargo area clean or rubber floor mats designed for all-weather durability. For those sunny days, a sunshade for the panoramic roof can reduce glare and keep the cabin cool. And for peace of mind, a first aid kit is a practical addition that fits seamlessly into the car.

These extras are the cherry on top, letting you adapt your Polestar 3 to your lifestyle, whether that’s family-focused, adventure-ready, or somewhere in between.
