Precept: Headlight signature
Slow and steady wins the race. Well at Polestar, we don’t really prescribe to that philosophy. The need to accelerate change in the automotive industry pushed us to take bigger leaps when designing the Precept. This is a catalysed evolution. Precept represents the future of Polestar as a brand.
Look at the headlights for example. The Thor’s hammer design is rooted in our parentage, so while we still maintain an aesthetic connection, we’ve taken it to the next level. Splitting the hammer is not only for visual purposes, the car’s low front end allows the top section of the lights to lean back on the body. It is something that you usually see in sports cars where the headlights are on top of the fender and face upwards to meet the legal requirements.
“It is an evolution of Thor’s hammer into the realm of performance car aesthetics while keeping a link to the family look. This is the future direction for Polestar” says Polestar Head of Design Maximilian Missoni.
However, Precept is not only the vision for our future, it is also part of our present. The first two Polestars have already embarked on the journey of Polestar’s unique design language. The Pixel LED headlights in Polestar 2 take Thor’s hammer to the zenith of current lighting technology. Another step towards the future.
