Your closest Polestar Space might be the hottest ticket in town

If you've ever been inside one of our award-winning Polestar Spaces, you'll know it's not your normal car showroom. Minimalistic. Monochrome. Immersive. Each Space is a carefully sculpted representation of our design philosophy writ large in steel and concrete. It's no wonder that some of the most innovative artists from around the world choose this environment to display their latest work.

Carmelo Zappulla's exhibition “From Pattern to Matter” explores the connection between nature and technology from a new perspective of sustainable design. Zappulla pushes the boundaries between product design and interior architecture, transforming our relationship with the spaces we inhabit.

Pop into any Polestar Space, and you're immediately greeted with a sense of familiarity: the gleaming stainless-steel surfaces; the clean, crisp lines; and Lisa Nordstrom's soft, mellow tones. It's an experience rarely matched in the automotive world — and that's even before we get to the cars. But look a little closer, and you might notice some subtle differences between Spaces.

With well over 100 prime locations around the world, Polestar specialist showrooms are at the centre of almost every cultural hub you can think of. From New York to Madrid, Sydney to Seoul, chances are you're never more than a few Michelin-starred restaurants away from your closest Space. And it's in this mesh of location, architecture, and culture that some pretty unique collaborations are happening.

"We're very lucky to have this type of environment. Our Spaces are great locations to showcase cars, which makes them suited to displaying art. In a way, they are very similar to art galleries, so we are looking at new and exciting ways to take advantage of this," says Isabel Salas Mendez, Polestar Spain PR Manager.

Although not the first, Polestar's Spanish Spaces have paved the way for this "cars to culture" crossover. Two recent exhibitions in Madrid and Barcelona have transformed these Spaces into the hottest destinations for art aficionados, car enthusiasts, and everyone in between.

"I feel strongly aligned with Polestar’s values and DNA. I believe that for both of us, the projects and pieces we create are the result of a work that fuses technology and aesthetics, always striving to improve the user experience," says renowned Italian architect and designer Carmelo Zappulla, whose exhibition 'From Pattern to Matter' explores the relationship between nature and technology through the lens of sustainability. "For me, the user experience is fundamental. We put the user at the centre and design around them. At the same time, Polestar is seeking the same thing: to make life easier, steering away from all the problems associated with the ‘dirtier’ side of automotive, and proposing a different way of using the car.”

These artists share a passion for design and sustainability that is very much in keeping with our own beliefs

Carmelo isn't the only artist with these shared passions. Earlier this year, the Polestar Madrid Space hosted Spanish designer Lucas Muñoz Muñoz. Known for his ability to breathe new life into often discarded materials, the artist's focus on circularity is an obvious fit with Polestar's sustainability principles.

"The exhibitions of Lucas Muñoz Muñoz and Carmelo Zapulla were a perfect fit for us," explains Isabel. "These artists share a passion for design and sustainability that is very much in keeping with our own beliefs. I think it offers a new and interesting opportunity for people visiting our Spaces."

Of course, our Polestar Spaces are fundamentally about cars. They are without question the best places (other than the open road) to get the full, first-hand immersive experience of the Polestar brand. Primarily, they are destinations to learn, explore — and hopefully have some fun. But once in a while (if you are in the right place, at the right time), they can offer something else: a wider glimpse into the Polestar world of design, sustainability, and technology. Come in and see for yourself; you never know what you'll find.

Myth-busting: Are EVs really better for the environment?

There’s no denying the scientific fact that electric vehicles emit nothing from their collective tailpipes, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions. But does the argument that they have a bigger carbon footprint than their internal combustion engine counterparts really hold up? We don't think so — but what do the facts say?
