Extending the range
Range-optimising tools like the range assistant app, pre-entry climate control, and the energy-saving heat pump provide Polestar 2 multiple options for extending its range.
Energy saving heat pump
Waste heat doesn’t have to be wasted heat. The heat pump warms up the cabin and preserves charge for more time on the road by making use of run-off thermal energy from the electric motors, battery, and ambient air.

Charging
Polestar 2 is ready for all charging options, from a rapid 205 kW DC top up to a convenient, overnight charge up to 11 kW AC.

All- or rear-wheel drive
Polestar 2 comes with an all-wheel drive or a rear-wheel drive drivetrain, both optimised for performance and driver engagement. The asynchronous front motor, permanent magnet rear motor, and silicon carbide inverter increase efficiency and torque, while the all-wheel drive system can disengage the front axle to further reduce energy consumption.
Driving characteristics
Adapt Polestar 2's responsive handling and drive to any scenario and preference with the adjustable steering feedback, One Pedal Drive, and sport mode settings.
Adjustable steering feedback
Polestar 2’s progressive power steering adapts to the car’s speed, providing less feedback when moving slowly and more feedback when travelling faster. The steering feel can be adjusted via the drive settings for a more personalised experience.
One Pedal Drive
Drive, brake, and regenerate, all with One Pedal Drive. Releasing the accelerator reverses the torque direction of the electric motors, which slows the car down and produces charge that extends Polestar 2’s range.
Sport Mode
Activating Sport Mode eases the assistance provided by the vehicle’s Electronic Stability Control system, giving the driver greater influence on the car’s handling. This mode also provides more traction when driving under heavy precipitation and on ice, snow, or gravel.
Suspension
Both the standard and the upgraded suspension are tuned to deliver a dynamic drive without compromising comfort or safety. This setup enables an optimal connection to the road regardless of conditions.
Öhlins Dual Flow Valve dampers
With a shared uncompromising approach to engineering, Polestar and suspension experts Öhlins have jointly developed the DFV dampers for Polestar 2. They are adjustable up to 22 clicks to suit all driving styles while providing unparalleled grip, responsiveness, and balance.

Twin-tube frequency-dependent dampers
Raising the standard of standard suspension, these dampers enhance handling and comfort by limiting body roll and improving car control. Combined with the compact and lightweight suspension struts and links, they add to the mechanical grip and road-holding of Polestar 2.
20-inch Performance wheels
Using a manufacturing technique developed for motorsport, forged alloy wheels are pressed rather than cast, making them stronger than conventional wheels while allowing for more intricate detailing. With the specially developed Continental SportContact 6 tyres, they provide optimal handling and road contact.

Brembo brakes
Building on decades of motorsport experience, Brembo brakes are engineered to the highest performance and safety standards. The ventilated, drilled discs and four-piston aluminium callipers offer quick response at any temperature while reducing weight, wear, noise, and dust build-up.
