L'intenzione è di consentire la manipolazione sicura dei componenti coinvolti per proteggere le persone e l'ambiente.

Le sostanze specificate nella "Tabella delle sostanze sull'elenco delle sostanze candidate" applicabile e presenti in parti della specifica automobile sono integrate in modo tale da ridurre al minimo la potenziale esposizione dei clienti e i rischi per persone o ambiente fintantoché l'automobile e le relative parti vengano usate come previsto e fintantoché riparazioni, tagliandi e manutenzione vengano effettuati ai sensi delle istruzioni tecniche per tali attività e ai sensi degli standard e delle buone prassi del settore.
Un'automobile esausta può essere smaltita secondo legge in ambito UE solo presso un impianto di trattamento e smaltimento rifiuti autorizzato (ATF). Le parti dell'automobile devono essere smaltite ai sensi della legislazione locale vigente e ai sensi delle istruzioni delle autorità locali competenti.
