Symbols and messages for Pilot Assist*1
A number of symbols and messages regarding Pilot Assist can be shown via the driver display and/or the head-up display.
| Symbol | Message | Specification |
|---|---|---|
 | Grey steering wheel symbol | Indicates deactivated steering assistance. The steering wheel is illuminated when Pilot Assist is providing steering assistance. |
 | Symbol for hands on the steering wheel | The system cannot detect the driver's hands on the steering wheel. Place your hands on the steering wheel and actively steer the car. |
 | Windscreen sensor Sensor blocked, see Manual | Clean the windscreen in front of the camera and radar unit's detectors. |
A text message can be cleared by briefly pressing the 
button, located in the centre of the steering wheel's right-hand keypad.
