Rear-view mirror

The rear-view mirror is a display showing the view from a camera located in the rear of the car.

The rear-view mirror has two modes. The camera display mode shows the view from the rear-view camera, which can be used to see what's going on behind your car. The mirror mode can be used if you want to see what is happening in the rear seats but it won't show you anything behind the car.

When the camera display mode is active, the camera symbol appears in the top left of the rear-view mirror.

Turning the camera feed off allows the display to work as a conventional mirror.

 Important

Driver responsibility

Rearward visibility and driving awareness are essential for your safety and the safety of others.

Make sure you adjust any camera display settings before driving. Always avoid distractions and performing other operations while driving.

The camera display mode is intended as a visual aid and does not replace the need for driver responsibility.
  • Be aware that the camera has a limited field of view.
  • Be careful when judging the distances to objects.
  • The camera display mode cannot compensate for visual impairment. If you have prescribed glasses or contact lenses that should be worn when driving, be sure to wear them.

Care and maintenance

Keep the camera clean and clear from obstructions and dirt. The areas around the camera and other relevant sensors must be cleaned on a regular basis and kept free from labels, objects, dirt and other kinds of potential obstructions. Failure to do so may result in functions being less effective, deactivated or giving incorrect responses.

Do not scrape or use any abrasive cleaning agent on the mirror or touch buttons. This can damage the display surface and electronic components.

If necessary, contact Polestar Customer Support for advice on cleaning or maintenance.
