Polestar 2’s music video debut: Bionic by Ou-Yang Nana

It’s important to do things properly. We’re determined to improve the society we live in by accelerating the shift to more sustainable electric mobility, and though we want this shift to occur sooner rather than later, that doesn't mean speed at the expense of what's right. The length of our checklists when designing, testing, and building Polestar 2 would shock a NASA launch engineer. Which makes it the perfect car to feature in the video for “Bionic”, the latest single by Ou-Yang Nana, who also knows a thing or two about diligent preparation.

Nana, one of the most popular musicians and actresses in China (even being included in Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Asia” in 2019), began writing “Bionic” at the age of 18. The fact that she crafted it meticulously before she released it is testament to her incredibly high standards.

This pursuit of perfectionism makes Polestar 2 a natural fit in Ou-Yang Nana’s video “Bionic”, also resonates perfectly with our mission to find the balance between technology and sustainability. According to “Bionic”, the difference between humanity and rapidly evolving technology is warmth and empathy. The video opens with a bionic woman, portrayed by the aforementioned pop star, waking up in a laboratory before exploring her surroundings with Polestar 2.

Creating a more intuitive, connected user experience, closing the gap between driver and car, is one way we aim to bring about this change towards an electric future. And though we’re impatient, we always challenge ourselves to get the details right. A mindset we share with Ou-Yang Nana.
