If you purchased the car by cash your final payment has to be made no later than 14 days before your selected handover date. If you purchased the car through finance, the contract and other outstanding arrangements must be done 3 weeks before your car handover.
When you place your order with a financing option of your choice (selected when configuring the car), you will be able to proceed with a financing application. Please note that the financing application must be approved before your order can be confirmed. If your financing application is declined, you can contact the financing provider to enquire about the credit check or to be advised how to better adapt the contract parameters and re-apply. Completion of your financing and the signing of your sales contract will take place closer to delivery time on your order page which is available when logging in using your Polestar ID.
Prior to delivery, you will have the possibility to provide information and supply documentation regarding your chosen financing partner, which Polestar will verify with your financing partner. We accept financing from major most banks and leasing providers in the UK, although we reserve the right to reject financing from external providers.
We offer financing options through our Polestar partners, either for loan or private operational lease, directly via your Polestar.com order page. The financial application is submitted online, and our partners are ready to support and advise in case your initial credit application is unsuccessful. We also allow loan-financed orders with financing from third-party banks. If your bank is to make a partial payment directly to Polestar, you will have the possibility to provide information and supply documentation regarding your chosen financing partner, which Polestar will verify with your bank before delivery. We accept financing from major banks in the UK, but we reserve the right to reject financing from external providers. If your bank makes the loan available in your bank account, and you subsequently make the payment to Polestar before delivery, you will not need to provide documentation regarding your financing.
Different financial options have different order deposit set-up and refund processes. Please contact the relevant financial provider for more information.
Yes, it’s possible to be declined credit for an initial application. In this case, our partners will contact you to advise you on how to proceed, including other financing options. This allows you to inquire about the credit check or be advised how to better adapt the contract parameters (duration, down-payment, etc.), and you can then re-apply.
No. If you have secured financing through a third party, you may need to sign a delivery verification at the time of handover. This will be sent to your financing partner by us to activate your financing.
No, the name of the individual who places the order needs to match with the financing and will eventually be the individual which the car will be registered to.
Yes, you can change your financing method or adjust the terms of your financing at any time before final confirmation of your order. Please note any adjusted terms may be subject to a secondary credit check.
Polestar accepts bank transfers, retail finance provided through Polestar Finance or Polestar leasing. Confirm the payment method of your choice when placing your order or when confirming your financing on your order page after placing your order. We require full payment, or a valid payment through a financing partner, before your order is delivered.
We require payment of the full amount, either personally or through a financing partner, before the handover of your order. If your financing does not include the full amount, we require you to settle the residual amount prior to handover.
To make your final payment, refer to the payment section on your order page and follow the provided payment instructions. Delayed payment may affect your handover date.
Yes, just repeat the bank transfer for every transaction, and always use your 8-digit order number as a reference for the payments.
You can only use your debit/credit card to pay for an order deposit and if you want to make a separate purchase of extras for your Polestar.
If your order is to be partially paid with an advanced payment or deposit, you will receive instructions on how to make this payment directly to Polestar before delivery.
If you have chosen to lease your Polestar, all payments will be made to our leasing partner. If you have chosen loan financing, the customer deposit will be paid directly to Polestar. Your monthly repayments will be paid directly to our finance partner.
