When the vehicle changes owners, there are several steps that need to be carried out to disconnect the previous owner and give the new owner access to Polestar Connect.
Selling a vehicle with Polestar Connect
The following steps should be carried out by the previous owner:
Remove the link between the vehicle and the Polestar 1 app.
Reset the settings in the center display – select to perform a factory reset.
Purchasing a vehicle with Polestar Connect
The following steps need to be carried out by the new owner:
Contact a delivery center for assistance transferring the time remaining on the previous owner's Polestar Connect subscription. If the subscription has expired, an extension will need to be purchased. The delivery center automatically generates a PIN code via email or text message. Save the PIN code in a safe place.

Change of ownership to another country
When a vehicle is purchased and imported to another country, it is important that the owner visits a delivery center in the country in which the vehicle was purchased. The retailer will then delete all customer data in their systems. The owner should then contact a delivery center in the country in which the vehicle is imported for assistance starting the Polestar Connect service.
