Keyless unlocking of the trunk lid using a foot movement

With keyless unlocking, the trunk can be opened by moving your foot to the side of the left-hand rear tire.

 Note

One of the vehicle's keys or your phone must be within range for locking and unlocking to be possible.
PS-1926-Power operated tailgate footmovement sensor
The sensor is located behind the left-side rear tire.

One of the vehicle's keys must be within range behind the vehicle, approx. 1 meter (3 feet), for opening to be possible. This applies even if the vehicle is unlocked in order to prevent the trunk lid from inadvertently opening e.g. at a car wash.

Opening using a foot movement

PS-1926-Tailgate Footmovement
Kicking motion within the sensor's activation area.
Make one forward kick movement on the side of the left-hand rear tire. Take a step back.
A brief audible signal will sound when opening is activated – the trunk lid will open/close.

If several opening or closing attempts have been made without the key in range behind the vehicle, foot movement operation will not be available for a short period of time.

Do not keep your foot under the vehicle in a kicking motion. This may prevent activation.

Closing the trunk lid

The trunk lid can be closed by manually pushing it down.

 Note

There is a risk of reduced or lost function if there are large amounts of snow, ice, dirt, etc. on the left-hand rear bumper. Make sure to keep the bumper clean.

 Note

Please note that the system could be inadvertently activated in a car wash or similar if the key is within range.

 Warning

Do not drive with the trunk lid open. Toxic exhaust fumes can be sucked into the vehicle through the trunk.
