High-pressure washing
The vehicle should be washed as soon as it becomes dirty. The longer the dirt remains, the more difficult it will be to keep the vehicle clean. It could also lead to paint damage. Wash the vehicle in a car wash or garage with an oil separator. Use a car washing detergent.
Note
Polestar has recommendations on suitable cleaning agents and car care products for the different parts of the vehicle. Contact Polestar Customer Support for more information on which products are suitable to use.
Important
For advice on how to maintain the emblem's matte finish, see the separate section.
If washing the vehicle with a high-pressure wash, use sweeping movements and keep the nozzle at least 30 cm(13 in.) from the vehicle. Do not spray directly on the locks or on the inside of the charger door.
Advice for high-pressure washing of vehicles with a foil finish1
- Use a nozzle that directs the spray at a 40° angle, at minimum.
- Make sure the nozzle has nozzle protection (tip guard).
- Do not use a pressure of more than 1200 psi(80 bar).
- Do not use water hotter than 60 °C(140 °F).
- Make sure that there is at least 30 cm(13 in.) between the nozzle and the vehicle, if the angle toward the surface is 90° +/-10°. If the angle toward the surface is 30° or greater, there must be at least 100 cm(39 in.) between the nozzle and the surface.
- Use extra caution when high-pressure washing near the edges of the foil finish and always use an angle greater than 60° in these areas.
