Troubleshooting problems with Digital Key
If you experience problems activating or using Digital Key, there are a few things you can try.

If the phone's battery is discharged, the Digital Key function is not available. Charge the phone or use a regular key instead.
Problems activating Digital Key
If you experience problems activating Digital Key, restart the vehicle's communication module (TCAM) and then try activating Digital Key again. If the problem persists, contact Polestar Customer Support.
Problems locking or unlocking the vehicle with Digital Key
- Hold the phone in your hand, point it at the vehicle, and try again. The phone's signal can be blocked or obstructed by other objects, for example if it is stored in a bag or near metal items or other electronics.
- Try unlocking or locking the vehicle using the buttons in the app.
Problems starting the vehicle with Digital Key
- Place the phone on or next to the wireless charging pad* or in the space under the center display where it has very good conditions for connection. The phone's signal can be blocked or obstructed by other objects, for example if it is stored in a bag or near metal items or other electronics.
If you experience problems with Digital Key
- Make sure that Bluetooth is activated and that the phone is connected to the vehicle.1
- Make sure that the app has access to requested phone functions, e.g., location services, and that access is not restricted.
- Make sure that the app is not closed down or limited in the phone due to e.g. battery-saving settings.
- Make sure the Digital Key function is not deactivated in the Polestar app's settings.
- Try temporarily disconnecting Wi-Fi, as some networks may obstruct authentication of the digital key.
- Try disabling and then re-enabling Bluetooth.
- Restart the app or the phone.
- Restarting the vehicle's communication module (TCAM).
- Check to see if there is a more recent version of the app and update it if possible.
- If the problem persists, contact Polestar Customer Support.
