The internal combustion engine in the Polestar 1 is a high-performance in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine. At low engine speeds, a supercharger compresses and forces air into the cylinders. This minimizes turbo lag until the engine reaches 3,500 rpm, when the turbocharger takes over.

Many cars promise torque vectoring, but few genuinely deliver. No brakes. No mechanical limited slip differential. Polestar 1's twin electric motors on the rear axle adapt the power to each rear wheel. Get agile, reactive steering, and excellent grip and stability around corners.

Since electricity is not measured in gallons, a conversion factor is used to translate the fuel economy into miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe). Use for comparison purposes only. Your MPGe will vary for many reasons, including but not limited to, driving conditions, how and where you drive, how you maintain your vehicle, battery-package/condition, tires, and other factors.
