Batteries

Your car has a number of different batteries to facilitate electric operation in various ways. The electrical system is single-pole and uses the chassis and engine casing as a conductor.

Starter battery

The starter battery is used to start up the electrical system and drive electrical equipment in the car. The hybrid battery is used when the internal combustion engine is started.

Hybrid batteries

To run the car on the electric motor, it is fitted with two hybrid batteries – one beneath the tunnel console and one behind the rear seat in the cargo area. These are maintenance-free, rechargeable batteries of lithium-ion type.

Auxiliary 12 V battery

This battery is used to electric operation in the front seats so that the passengers in the rear seat can get out, even if other electrics are switched off.

 Note

It is recommended to contact Polestar Customer Support for the replacement of batteries.
