Getting started with Polestar Connect

To get started with Polestar Connect, you need to carry out certain preparations.

Exploring the Polestar 1 app

Before picking up the vehicle from the delivery center, you are recommended to download the free-of-charge Polestar 1 app and test it in demo mode. Demo mode makes it possible to explore the majority of functions and provides information on how the app is used.

Activating Polestar Connect

When the vehicle is picked up, the delivery center will activate the Polestar Connect system and the owner will receive an automatically generated PIN code for Polestar Connect. The PIN code is used for security reasons to identify the owner (or another authorized person such as a family member) and works as a vehicle key.

Polestar Connect subscription

For the functions to work, the vehicle must have an active Polestar Connect subscription.

A free subscription is initiated when the vehicle is purchased and the system is activated. This subscription is valid for a limited time, but can be extended. Contact Polestar Customer Support for more information.

Polestar ID and linking the Polestar 1 app to your vehicle

A Polestar ID is required to use Polestar Connect. Once a Polestar ID has been created, the Polestar 1 app needs to be linked to the vehicle.

 Note

To use the services in the Polestar 1 app, the vehicle must have a valid Polestar Connect subscription and the app must be linked with the vehicle.

Buying a pre-owned vehicle with Polestar Connect

If you have purchased a pre-owned vehicle with Polestar Connect, it is important to delete the data from the previous owner and add you own details for the service to work. Contact Polestar Customer Support for assistance.
