PIN code for Polestar Connect

For security reasons, a PIN code is used to identify that a person is authorised to perform Polestar Connect services in a certain car.

The four-digit PIN code is generated automatically by Polestar Assistance. The code is sent to the car owner to identify people who are authorised to perform certain Polestar Connect services.

Using a Polestar Connect PIN code

The Polestar Connect PIN code is required for the following services, for security reasons:

  • Creating a link between the Polestar 1 app and your car.
  • Remote unlocking of your car via Polestar Assistance.
  • When you start tracking a stolen car via Polestar Assistance.
  • When you create new app users for your car.
  • When you cancel your Polestar Connect subscription via the app, e.g. when the car changes owners.

Forgotten or change of PIN code

If you have forgotten your PIN code or it needs to be changed (such as when purchasing a used car with Polestar Connect) contact Polestar Assistance via the ON CALL button or the Polestar 1 app. The new code is then sent to the car owner.

Incorrect PIN code has been entered for the app repeatedly

If an incorrect PIN code has been entered ten times in a row, the account will be locked. A new PIN code must be selected in order to be able to use the app again and a new app account created by following the same process as when the previous app account was created.

Difference between a Polestar ID password and a Polestar Connect PIN code

The password for Polestar ID is required to log in to the Polestar 1 app. The PIN code for Polestar Connect is the four-digit code used for the services referred to above. The PIN code shows that the user is authorised.
