Voice control in the Polestar 1 app

With a virtual assistant such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa or Siri, you can control some of the functions in the Polestar 1 app by only using your voice. For example, you can check that the doors are locked.

Conditions for using a virtual assistant

  • Google Assistant requires that you use Google Assistant via a phone or Google Home speaker and that you have linked Google Assistant to the Polestar 1 app.
  • Amazon Alexa requires that you use an Amazon Echo speaker and that you have linked Amazon Alexa to the Polestar 1 app.
  • For Siri, you need to have the Polestar 1 app installed on an iOS device and have the Siri service activated.

Functions that can be controlled with voice control

Functions that can be controlled with voice control with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa:

  • Check that the doors and windows are closed.
  • Check that the doors are locked.
  • Check the fuel level.
  • Remote start/stop the parking heater to heat/stop heating the car.
  • Remote start/stop the preconditioning to cool/stop cooling the car.
  • Get an estimate of the distance to empty tank.
  • Locking the car.
  • Get help with locating your car by:
    • asking it to flash the lights.
    • asking it to flash the lights and sound the horn.

Functions that can be controlled with voice control using Siri:

  • Check that the car is locked.
  • Locking the car.
  • Unlock the car.
  • Check the fuel level.
  • Sound the car's horn to locate it.

 Note

Voice control of Polestar 1 app is currently only available in English for Amazon Alexa, and in English and Swedish for Google Assistant. For Siri, voice control of the Polestar 1 app is available in all languages and markets for which Siri is available.
